Choose resolution for the screen you will actually use
Video resolution affects detail, transfer size, and processing time. A small phone screen does not always benefit from the same setting as a large monitor. Choosing 720p can be a useful balance for many everyday situations, while 1080p is a common choice when you want more detail and the source offers it.

Why the tool may show a merging stage
Higher-quality video and audio can be delivered as separate streams. The backend downloads a compatible video stream and audio stream, then uses FFmpeg to combine them into the final MP4. That merge step explains why a job can reach a high percentage and still need a little more time before the final button appears.
“Best available” versus a fixed resolution
Best available lets the downloader select the strongest compatible choice it can process. A fixed setting such as 720p or 1080p limits the video selection to that height or lower. Fixed choices are useful when you want more control over file size and processing time.
Higher output cannot invent missing detail
If a source is only available at a modest resolution, requesting 4K does not create genuine 4K image information. The source remains the ceiling. When a high setting fails or produces more data than you need, retry with 720p or 1080p.
